Support Our Veterans!!

Join us Saturday, November 11, 2017 2-4PM to meet local Veterans and show your support and gratitude for their service.  This is our 3nd annual Veteran's Day event in conjunction with Nolan County Veterans' Services and Integra Healthcare.  We will provide light snacks, our Veterans provide a storytelling portion of the event, and we hope to see you there to provide support!  Students from Mrs. Squires' Sweetwater Intermediate School Music class will open the ceremonies with a live performance of the Star Spangled Banner.  We hope to see you there!!

Join us for our annual Pumpkins on the Porch pumpkin decorating contest!!  We'll have games and prizes for kids pre-K through 5th grade from 6-8PM!  Winners for our Pumpkin and Costume contests will be announced at 7PM!!  

It's our birthday and we're ready to party!!

Immediately following the Lions' Club 4th of July Parade and Ceremonies at Newman Park, join us to celebrate 50 years of the Pioneer Museum!!

We are proud to present Thatcher Freund, author, journalist, and friend to the Museum.

Oral History workshop led by Thatcher Freund. Mr. Freund is a longtime journalist who has authored two books and written for The New York Times and The New York Times Magazine.  In this limited space workshop, students will learn how to become journalists.  How to identify a story in their subject and how to retrieve forgotten memories.  After this 2.5 hour workshop, students will continue to record interviews with Nolan County residents.  They will learn how to use camera equipment and editing software so their stories can be published on the museum's YouTube channel.  

Space is limited to no more than 15 students for the workshop.  Students entering grades 6th-10th Fall 2017 are eligible to register.  You may register through our contact page HERE.  Type Notables in the subject line, include student's name, grade, and school in the message as well as best way to contact them.

Join the Woman's Forum as we celebrate women with our first ever Mother Daughter Tea.  We will have an afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes, pastries, and petits fours.

Cost is $10/person 

All proceeds benefit educational programming at the museum.

Join us for an evening of art and entertainment on the Museum's classic porch and garden.  The artist, Toro Saniya Vaun will be on hand to answer questions.

Join us for our Third Annual Christmas Crawl scavenger hunt!!  Children of all ages are welcome to "crawl" the museums' hallways as you discover the history of Christmas traditions, presents, and much more!  We'll have an ornament craft, food, drinks, and fun!!  This is a "come and go" event!
